At last, I have all the pieces for my new computer. Well, not all, I am still missing the 1200 W PSU that should be here tomorrow. For anyone interested, this is going to be my new comp:
-Case: Antec Twelve Hundred (I wanted a big case with good airflow, I guess that one 20cm fan plus five 12cm fans will do )
-CPU: Intel Core i7 950 (3.06 GHz)
-Mobo: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
-Memory: Patriot Viper 6 Gigs DDR3 Kit (3 x 2GB) (PC3-12800, 1600MHz) I'll use them in Triple Channel
-Graphics Card: Zotac Geforce GTX295 (1792 MB of GDDR3 memory) (This thing is big as hell, reminds me of old IBM XT cards in size )
-HD: Seagate Barracuda (1 TB, SATA)
-DVD Reader: some LG one (SATA)
-DVD Writer: another LG one (SATA as well)
-Mouse: Logitech G9 (laser mouse)
-Keyboard: some generic one ()
For the OS I plan on installing Windows 7 Professional x64
So in short I should be back to playing INF again (I hope I won't have any trouble running INF under windows 7)
I am attaching some photos just in case someone is interested (I still haven't assembled anything, just inserted the CPU in its socket)

Sounds bad, aside from the keyboard
No looks pretty cool actually. May I ask how much it cost you, if it isn't too much indiscretion? _________________ Friendly fire - isn't.

Nice, mid. I still need a new comp aswell, though right now a new cell phone is more in need.
Oh, and good to have you back.

Not bad. Only I am not at all a fan of overclocked memory ...

Yeah, those things are huge. They also have a TDP of 300W. You can fry eggs on it.

Oh, I didn't see someone replied to this topic
To UndeadLord: it cost me around 1500 euros.
Windows 7 is working great. Being Windows, it's a bit in the hungry side for memory (I am using around 20% with no applications loaded. Still, I haven't gotten it using more than around 35%). The CPU usage remains quite low as well. Now, I want to get some new games to see how it fares (ArmA 2, maybe? )
My only problem is that INF seems to run a bit too fast. This is more noticeable when there are no other players around me. I guess the old UT engine wasn't thought for nowadays computers

Inf running fast can be cured easily - there's a thread about running UT on latest hardware. Basically you want to run Inf/UT on one core and at constant processor speed. _________________ "Anything you do can get you killed, including doing nothing."
