If I had to make a bet I'd say fake for some reasons:
1.: the blood splatter pattern looks like the rod hit him when on the ground.
2.: the projectile can't be seen in flight. Assuming the distance is about 10m and the camera takes 30 frames per second the projectile would have to exceed 300m/s speed to be not seen on a single frame, which I rate unlikely with the given equipment.
3.: They just run to their "friend" and continue filming. Hell, if I had just shot a "friend" I'd sure be a bit more upset than that. After all they are likely to get imprisoned for this shit.
4.: the rod is actually not straigt anymore when stuck in the victim. The point and rear have a significant angle, which might be the result of bending when the rod hits bone, but there's not really much bone where the rod stuck.
5.: they don't seem drunk enough for that.. _________________ "Anything you do can get you killed, including doing nothing."

Also, if it was a video of them actually hurting their friend they wouldn't have put in the slo-mo part |
